Summer’s Hottest Workout: The Plank.

No need to kill your neck doing sit-ups or buy expensive machines in hopes of strengthening your core any more! The latest fad of the plank allows you to do this basic exercise practically anywhere and anytime. But what are its benefits?




The body’s core is essential to human health. It develops posture, stability, and a start to becoming a better walker or runner. Core exercises help to support our back and abdomen, which is key in something we need especially with the running around and on-your-feet life that we live today.

The plank satisfies all of the back and abdomen needs as well as helping the pelvic and hip floors, and shoulders and arms. Did i mention that it tones your legs in great places along with the sculpting of your abs?!?

Planking in the position of using the forearms is great, but raising this workout and using hands to stay up is quite a challenge! What about planking on a side and using one arm to balance the core? The plank is super beneficial!

So how can you incorporate the incredible plank into your lifestyle? Super easy. Start with a plank for 30 seconds. Take a mini break and continue. try it for 5 times, then repeat for the next day, hiking up the seconds you plank for and the amount of times you do it. You will never go wrong with it!

Something so simple, but hard for people do on a daily basis? drink water. Now that spring is slowly approaching and the sun will be getting hotter, it is BENEFICIAL to drink water and stay hydrated all the time. But creating the habit of keeping water in your diet can also have some perks throughout every season of the year!


SKIN: looking for that natural glow? continuing to use the same chemicals to try to clear your skin? Drinking water habitually will NATURALLY treat your skin by detoxing and moisturizing cells in your body.

Spring Allergies: Going Natural with the Remedies..

Spring is quickly approaching and before you go to your local drug store and stock up on antihistamines and eye drops, believe it or not, their are natural everyday products that people can use to soothe their allergy symptoms, just like Benadryl or a daily dose of Zyrtec can.


To begin, allergies are a simple sign of how low our immune system can be during this transitional time. Quit Yawning!

Let’s just face it. There isn’t enough hours in the day to do everything we want to get done. Between, school, hours at work, time to spend with families, eating, and socializing with other humans in the world, we always fall short to the essential things that we need in order to survive, like sleep.


It has been said that an average person should be getting 7-8 hours of rest every night, but do we really live up to these hours?

When planning the events for the day, we often put certain priorities to the back burner because we believe that these plans have less significance than the others. Thinking that a couple hours of sleep can get someone through the day, or drinking caffeine and staying “active” can take the thought of going back to sleep away is NOT AN HEALTHY CHOICE.

Sleep is super detrimental to our health and because we are not aware of the benefits and importance of sleep, we often put this “priority” on the back burner. Feels like I’m talking directly to you? No worries, we are only here to inform.

Thinking about loosing weight, for starters, wouldn’t happen as soon as you think because your up and awake all the time. Because sleep allows your body to slow down your metabolism, the average hours of sleep helps your weight.

Anxiety and stress will continue to increase because sleep allows your mind to slow down and gain calm energy, rather than up and running.

Living a longer life, believe or not, is a great benefit of good sleep as well. Resting your body preserves your life span and you live longer!


So we know what it does now and how it contributes to our everyday life, so what can we do to fix this dilemma?

1. Treat yourself like a child. SET A BEDTIME. That way by knowing your time to go sleep will allow you to do everything in your day that must be done in order to go to sleep at an earlier time.

2. SET AN AGENDA. by not only creating a bedtime but by setting scheduled times to do your valued things in the daytime shows your progress throughout the day and gives you the tie to catch some ZZ’s.

3. And the last one that we should all worry about: STOP PLAYING AND GO TO SLEEP. The extra stuff that you shouldn’t be doing during the day should get cut, knowing that you need to get a good’s night rest.

So now that we know lets stop pulling these all nighters and worry about our lives 🙂

Going Natural…With Lip products.

The recent “National Hair movement” has sparked a wave of people to seek other ways to live a natural life. When i was asked about the lip products that i regularly used, a conversation with a person who has “natural lips” interest me to start researching the idea of natural lips..


For those who use the most popular lip protectant, Blistex, can be quite intrigued with the information that I’ve found out. Blistex has a chemical ingredient that soaks up the natural moisture in your lips, making them become more dry and having the consumer (YOU)  apply more Blistex and buy more of their products. I can admit that Blistex was my guilty pleasure and it might be yours but there’s other options to keep your lip moisturized. I promise.


ImageThe late and great natural product, BEESWAX, is a great way to protect your lips and keep them moisturized and healthy. Beeswax also has great UV protection from the sun and has a GREAT smell that is appropriate to apply to your lips. Unlike Blistex, you begin to apply less beeswax because its restoring the moisture in your lips, meaning you spend less $$$!


Other organic products are available like the EOS egg that recently came on the market (and which i personally use) to begin my natural lip journey. Like any other transitioning method, it takes time and great patience to continue using these organic products to start seeing change. And its actually A LOT easier to just run back to the product that you have been always using. BUT HOLD ON, AND KEEP STRONG! I promise it has its benefits 🙂
